FYI: Only use this guide as a work around if you computer cannot come out of a hibernated state. There is no reason to turn it off if you are not experiencing a problem.
What is Hibernation:
In computing it is powering down a computer while retaining its state. Upon hibernation, the computer saves the contents of its random access memory (RAM) to a hard disk or other non-volatile storage. Upon resumption, the computer is exactly as it was before entering hibernation. Like a powered down system, the power source from a system in hibernation can be removed without any state loss risk.
Why Turn off Hibernation?
In many cases, the Hibernation state causes the computer to not come back to the desktop, and in order to get back to the desktop you have to restart the entire machine.
To turn off Hibernation follow this procedure:
1.Open a command prompt with administrative privileges.
- To do this, press the windows button on your keyboard, , type cmd in the search bar, and when it comes up in the menu right click on it and choose Run as administrator.
2. Type in "powercfg.exe -h off"
4.Exit the command prompt.
5. Restart Computer.
You will no longer have any issues with your computer not booting back up to the desktop.
